Yuba Mundo Electric Cargo Bike

The "Family Truckster" of bikes, the ElectricYuba Mundo can carry 3 kids, groceries, and just about anything else you can strap on the back.  TheYuba paniers are too big and expensive for us so I wanted to customize a deck to hold our smaller Patagonia Half Mass courier bags.  I started with an extra piece of redwood shelving from the garage and ended up with a functional deck.  The electric assist motor comes from eZee and is located in the front hub.  We use a 36V lithium battery which last a full day of riding and allows us to reach the top of the hill!  The baby seat is the Maxi Easy Fit by Yepp and the baby loves it!

  2. Looks great! How did you attach the Easyfit adapter directly to the rack and not drilled into a board? Thanks!

  3. I brought it to my local bike shop who was able to drill out some holes to fit properly. The other set of holes needed the clamps to latch onto the outside rails.

  4. We'd love to do this to our new Kona Minute, I am hesitant to deface the nice wooden board that comes with it. Do you know what clamps the shop used? Which shop? We are also Norcal (SF), maybe we could use them. Thanks again!

  5. You know, I ended up changing our set-up after our second child. I bought the bamboo deck from yuba and drill one set through that with washers and locking nuts while the second set of screws was directly into the yuba frame for strength. The best shop in the Bay Area is Bicycle Works Co-op in Fairfax. The owner is Jalani and he is the man for all things Cargo/electric!
